Energyline Ltd. is a fast-growing independent multi-disciplinary engineering, planning and environmental consultancy based in the beautiful county of North Yorkshire, specialising in the design and consenting of power system projects including overhead lines and underground cables.

Across the company we offer design solutions, design studies relating to overhead lines and underground cable schemes, planning and environmental consultancy expertise as well as site-based services including overhead line and underground cable surveys, condition inspections, site investigations and engineering/ environmental surveys.

The successful candidate will benefit from the exposure that a SME (small to medium sized) company offers to a wide range of disciplines and stakeholders.

The Role

Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit two graduates as part of a structured development programme. You will work alongside our experienced engineers who will provide mentoring, training and support as you work, often as part of multi-disciplinary teams, on a variety of projects.

What will you be doing?

• Applying your technical knowledge to high voltage electrical engineering design (33 kV and above).
• Assisting with the preparation of detailed cable system designs and HV Cable rating studies using CYMCAP.
• Providing technical support in the delivery of concept design, feasibility, outline and detailed design projects for client.
• Working closely with our CAD and GIS teams to generate cable route drawings, bonding arrangements and cross-sectional drawings.
• Producing technical reports.
• Attending sites for inspection and design purposes.
• Building important relationships with clients and their representatives at all levels within the projects, through regular contact and by attending project meetings.
• Assisting the Senior Engineers in all aspects of cable system design.

What do you need?

To be considered for these positions, you should :

• Be working towards (or have already achieved) a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification – for example a BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or a MSc in Electrical Power Engineering.
• Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to articulate your information and ideas in a clear and concise manner.
• Have a methodical approach to problem solving and a great attention to detail.
• Be able to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively with strong organisational and planning skills.
• Be able to travel and attend meetings and site visits across the UK which may include occasional overnight stays.
• Have the ability to demonstrate the company values of Integrity, Teamwork and Professional Excellence.
