Highland Access and Drainage Works, Quoich

Construction of 132kV overhead line supports on steep and rocky ground required access for construction traffic and working platforms for cranes and piling rigs. In addition to the design of the steel pole supports and piled foundations, access roads were designed to consider the limitations of the existing ground profiles, maximum gradient limits for plant and equipment and ground conditions. The civil engineering design works included:
